Inclusion at Chaucer Infants

Everything we do is underpinned by our core values: Belong, Enjoy, Aim high and Respect. Our school has dedicated and caring staff who have high aspirations for all pupils and create a learning environment that is nurturing, engaging and accessible to all.

Our culture of BEAR means that teaching, learning, assessment and all wider school activities are planned with full consideration of the abilities, needs and strengths of all of our children.

We are proud to offer excellence and choice to all our children, whatever their ability or needs. Chaucer Infant and Nursery school sees the ‘greatness’ in all our pupils and adopts a ‘whole school approach’ to identifying and providing for the needs of all children.  We recognise that some children may need additional or different provision for all or some of their time at Chaucer Infant and Nursery School in order to reach their learning potential so we strive to ensure early identification of special educational needs.

Our use of highly personalised provision and adaptations to the school and learning environments ensure that we enable access to all learning opportunities for all children and everyone in our school has the opportunity and access to love learning and love life.

Sleep

The Sleep charity says:

“Quality sleep is essential for children’s growth and development. A decent night’s sleep will help them do better at school, allow them to react more quickly to situations, have a more developed memory, learn more effectively and solve problems, plus it will make them less susceptible to colds and other minor ailments, less irritable and better behaved”

If your child struggles to get good quality nights sleep, or struggles to get to sleep or wakes up early, then the Sleep Charity may be able to offer you support.

The Sleep Charity are able to offer support with the following:
